About
Great question! DotA 2 has a new form of skill rating for each player called Medal Tiers, which goes from Herald to Immortal. The "Trench" is anywhere around Archon 5, which translates to roughly anyone below 3360 MMR. It's called a trench because once players fall in, it's a very long and treacherous climb to get out, filled with feeders, flamers, and some of DotA 2's worst players. The Trench League is a tournament meant only for those players.
